I was at Dutch Bottoms today with Stan Wallace from around noon to 1:00. No
Jaeger to be seen of course but 3 Common Terns were still around far out in the
middle of the channel. Some vultures were circling behind us over the road when
I noticed an adult Bald Eagle and Sharp-shinned Hawk. Soon after 9 Broad-winged
Hawks were above and just after they flew over the lake another gigantic kettle
appeared. It was an incredible, densely packed group of 350+ birds! I had to
estimate by counting by 10s as they tucked into a glide stretched out
vertically. Certainly wasn't expecting this here. Eric Bodker and his wife
drove up earlier and were able to see this too. Almost made up for the Yaeger.
