The Common Redpoll at my mother's feeders in Hohenwald Lewis County has been seen at least twice today, by one group this morning and by a solo visitor this afternoon. Evidently both times the observers had to wait quite a while before the bird showed up (hours). According to my mom, about two dozen people have seen the bird so far, with wait times between 30 seconds and several hours. There must be some other places it is hanging out; it's right in town and there are other feeders in the neighborhood. Mom has been enjoying all the excitement! So far the 70-degree weather hasn't chased the bird back north, but it'll be hard for me to definitely monitor the bird by myself since it disappears for large chunks of time. So anyone else who stops by, please e-mail me or post updates, even if you get skunked. Thanks for all the reports and photos, everyone. And thanks to the Old Coot for helping put up feeders!
