Feb. 17-27, 2007 Mississippi River Front-Loosahatchie Bar Shelby Co, TN On Saturday the 17th, I had 3 male and 2 female Common Mergansers behind a rock dike on the upper end of Loosahatchie Bar out from Mud island. Today, Tuesday the 27, the three males steamed out from the cut behind the Loosahatchie bar at Dacus Bar. I did not see the females but they could still be around. The Mississippi, after falling 25 feet in 2 weeks is again on the rise with a 10 foot gain in the last 2 weeks. I expect it to clear 25 feet here soon.
