One thing to keep in mind that makes things a little more difficult in the afternoon is the location of the mailboxes. Because they're directly at the end of the cul-du-sac, there's really no place to park that will a) give you a good view of the feeders, and b) keep you from getting hit by the mail truck. I doubt I'll have another chance to make it up there myself, so hopefully other people will see it and I'll just be jealous here in Murfreesboro ;-) Daniel ________________________________ From: Terry Witt <terrywitt@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: tn-bird <tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, February 10, 2012 6:45 AM Subject: [TN-Bird] Commomn Redpoll viewing In consideration of other birders, the homeowners, and the birds, I would suggest that anyone who comes to see the redpoll, STAY IN THE VEHICLES. The feeders are fairly near the road in the front yard, and the presence of anyone walking around will inhibit visits by all the birds. There is plenty of parking room for 3 or 4 vehicles without blocking driveways. If all the closer spots are taken, one might consider asking to join a car that is not already full. Hopefully the bird will be cooperative this weekend, and many people will be able to enjoy it's presence. With a little luck, the cold weather may bring more frequent feeding; when eating, the redpoll seems to stay put on the feeder for several minutes, rather than flitting in and out.
