Many shorebirds at the Hickerson Rd. sod farm in Coffee Co late this
morning. Highlight for me was a Sanderling (unusual for the county) and two
Dunlin (very early).
Not feeling like making a 7 hour round trip to Pickwick to chase storm
birds yesterday, I instead birded Woods Reservoir in Franklin Co.; no Sooty
Tern for me, but a nice group of Black Terns. Of course a Sooty Tern was
seen after I left. Figuring one good tern deserves another (sorry!) I went
back this morning. Of course no Sooty! My consolation prize was two
Brown-headed Nuthatches.
