I birded Chickamauga Reservoir on April 17, 2007 from 9:09 am to 3:36 pm. Water elevations were around 679 feet which has eliminated much of the mudflats. A select list of birds is listed below: North Mouse Creek/Spring Creek embayment, McMinn County 1. Killdeer 2. Greater Yellowlegs 3. Blue-winged Teal- 4 Roger's Creek embayment, McMinn County 1. Killdeer 2. Lesser Yellowlegs- 11 3. Green Heron- 1 Price's Creek embayment, Meigs County- almost no flats available Gunstocker Creek embayment, Meigs County 1. Killdeer- 1 2. Spotted Sandpiper- 3 3. Blue-winged Teal- 2 4. Gadwall- 14 Hiwassee Refuge Viewing Area, Meigs County- almost no flats available Sugar Creek embayment, Meigs County 1. Killdeer- 1 2. Great Egret- 1 3. Northern Parula- 1 4. possible rail in marsh- I heard something running off. It responded to clicking sounds but I didn't recognize the species. Cricket frogs were also calling which have a clicking call. Candies Creek embaymant, Bradley County- no flats available except for shoreline 1. Spotted Sandpiper- 1 Candies Creek Wildlife Area at the junction of route 306 and 308 1. Greater Yellowlegs- 1 2. Great Egret- 3 South Mouse Creek embayment, Bradley County 1.
