Jan Shaw and I birded most of this great spring day in Cheatham County. At Narrows of the Harpeth St. Park we had Am. Redstart, Wood Duck, Red & White-eyed & Yellow-throated Vieros, La. Waterthrush,No. Parula, Broad-winged Hawk, Prothonatary & Blue-winged Warblers. All of the bridges over the Harpeth River, on Cedar Hill Rd., are hosting swarms of Cliff Swallows. From a high bluff over Turnbull Creek, near Craggie Hope, we had a close look at a singing Yellow-throated Warbler and a heart stopping look down view of a beautiful Red-shouldered Hawk. A bit later, at Mongomery Bell St. Park, in Dickson County, we had a great look at a stunning Red-tailed Hawk circling with a snake in it's beak. You don't forget days like this.
