The Chattanooga chapter of the TOS will hold it's monthly meeting at 7:00 PM this Thursday, August 9 at the Ascension Lutheran Church, 720 South Germantown Rd. in Chattanooga. Harold Birch will do the Bird-of-Month on the Wood Thrush. The main speaker will be Lyn Bales. Lyn is a naturalist at Ijams Nature Center in Knoxville. He has written a book "Natural Histories: Stories From the Tennessee Valley". His talk will especially talk about the histories affects on birds. Lyn is also working on a book about "Jim Tanner And the Ivory-Bill" so we expect to hear about the Ivory-bill also. Everyone is invited to attend. You do not have to be a member.
