The Chattanooga CBC was held on Saturday December 16. Despite unseasonably warm temperatures (~ 70 for a high) thirty-three participants (an excellent number) found 101 species, which is just above average for the count, but great for the conditions. The Highlights included: -5 species of warblers COMMON YELLOWTHROAT - Brainerd Levee Orange-crowned Palm Yellow-rumped Pine -AMERICAN BITTERN - Brainerd Levee -13 Virginia Rails - Standifer Gap Marsh - unidentified hummingbird species on Missionary ridge (probable Selasphorus) -SEDGE WREN -Marsh Wren - Brainerd Levee, Standifer Gap Marsh -LINCOLN'S SPARROW Misses: Great Horned Owl Greater Scaup Sandhill Crane I want to thank everyone who helped make this count very successful!
