Tennessee Birders, I just wanted to alert you all to a little known situation. Tenn. Wildlife Resources Agency is currently receiving YOUR comments on managing the 70,000+ acres they recently obtained on either side of Royal Blue WMA on the Cumberland Plateau. At last count, the TWRA web page said that ONE person had commented that they wanted to see the area managed for Cerulean Warblers! As many of you know, this is a huge parcel of land surrounding the heart of the region where Ceruleans breed. It was also one of TWRA's original major goals to manage it for Ceruleans, Golden-Winged Warblers, and Elk. This is also immediately adjacent to the area many of you visited during the TOS State Meeting in May to see Ceruleans, Golden Wings, and Swainson's Warblers. I urge you to email TWRA a brief comment telling them what you think the management priorities for the area should be. Dozens of ORV riders have apparently already sent in their comments. But almost nothing from birders! We need to speak out! I realize this is mainly because of the lack of publicity about this opportunity to let TWRA know you care about birds! You may comment by accessing TWRA's web site-- http://www.state.tn.us/twra/ and going to the bottom of the list of "What's New" and clicking on Sundquist WMA Draft Management Plan. Then simply click on Email and write in your comment. We only have today, tomorrow and Friday left to comment, so please do it Today! Thanks!
