I stopped by a known wet cow pasture in Leiper's Fork this morning in hopes
of finding an American Golden Plover in with the numerous Wilson's Snipe
and Killdeer in the wet areas of the field. While I didn't have luck with
the Plover search, I did see 2 Blackbirds feeding around the cows that
caught my attention. They were both male with shorter bills and dark glossy
coloration. While they were too far to get great pictures, I was able to
capture some images that I shared with some experts who confirmed my hope:
Brewer's Blackbirds! One other birder arrived while I was there and got
some more pics before they unfortunately took off and flew out of sight to
the west. This is a new species on eBird for Williamson County.
