[TN-Bird] Re: Brewer's Blackbird at Ellington, Nashville

Jan,

Your sighting is a good record. Brewer's Blackbird seems to be more
scarce than "uncommon" in Tennessee, no doubt partly because it is hard
to identify.

Late winter is the time of year when Brewer's Blackbird tends to appear
in Greene County as well. We have a couple of areas in the western part
of the county where it has been seen for most of the last five years,
although I haven't found it yet this year. BRBL winters further south
and then appears here only briefly as it heads north and west. However,
there is a possibility that a few birds may winter in east Tennessee. I
have tried hard in many counties to find Brewer's Blackbird in December
and January but have had little success.
