I went out on the deck Sunday morning before dawn for the Knox Co Fall
Count (9/29) and had a modest thrush flight with some good variety
including about 25 Swainson's, 4 Gray-cheeked, 4 Wood, and 2 Veery plus
the usual number of "I don't know"s all in about 20 min starting at 06:30.

Did not try again until this morning (10/3) which was mostly quiet except
for one little wave with maybe 6 Swainson's (plus 2 or 3 others before
that) and a few warbler/sparrow chips. Did have a Swainson's Thrush
working the woods after daylight.

No Hermit Thrushes heard yet but it is getting about time for them to
start coming through.

On a side note, thanks to Scott Sommershoe for (privately) pointing out my
banding code faux pas in a recent email. At some point I got BTGN and
BTGY engrained in my mind for Black-throated Green and Grey Warblers
instead of BTNW and BTYW. BTGN would be Black-tailed Gnatcatcher. Now if
I can just remember if Cedar Waxwing is CEWX or CEDW.
