5-10-08 Williamson Co. Yesterday afternoon I took my parents out in the country for a little pre Mother's Day and NA Migration Day bird outing. We were very successful in finding all of our target species, favorites of my mother and me. On Moran Rd. we had 20+ Cliff Swallows at a bridge over the Harpeth River, and one Red-headed Woodpecker near the intersection of Old Natchez Trace Rd. Off of Del Rio Pk. on Two Rivers Ln. we found one Grasshopper Sparrow on the fence at the first house on the right. Further down on Del Rio Pk. we found a flock of 54 Bobolinks in a field where they were found on our spring count last Sunday. They were close to the road so we were able to get great views of this gorgeous bird and hear their wonderful song. In a line of cedars right next to the Bobolinks we had 2 Dickcissels.
