Migration has been steady but mostly uneventful around the yard. Did have
a brief look at a passing falcon earlier this week, probably a Merlin but
did not get a good look. Thrushes have had a good showing in the Black
Gums, but warblers have been relatively scarce... plus I've had a lot less
time to bird this fall. A sampling below, all from today (5 Oct) unless
noted.

Great Horned Owl, overnight 2-3 Oct
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, 1
Ruby-throated Hummingbird, 2+
E Wood-Pewee, 2
Blue Jay, good movement all week but very strong this morning with 150+
Red-breasted Nuthatch, 1
Gray-cheeked Thrush, 1
Swainson's Thrush, few dozen calls heard in about 15 min around 6AM
Wood Thrush, outnumbered Swainson's this morning
Magnolia Warbler, 1
Hooded Warbler, 1 on 3&5 Oct, new late dates for the yard
Ovenbird, 2-4 Oct foraging along the fence and under the feeders
Summer Tanager, 1
Rose-breasted Grosbeak, 1
Indigo Bunting, <10 nocturnal migrants heard 4-5 Oct
