I've been keeping track of nocturnal activity off and on from White-oak
Ridge Raptor Lookout in Perry County for the past two weeks, with small
numbers of thrushes, warblers, White-throated Sparrows, etc. passing
through but didn't have any Cuckoos.
Last night there were warblers, thrushes and White-throated Sparrows in
slightly higher numbers (still low compared to peak migration) but the
biggest difference was approximately 12 Yellow-billed Cuckoos and 2
BLACK-BILLED CUCKOOS that were all heard passing over soon after midnight.
Victor also heard 3 Dickcissels (FOS) passing over around the same time.
Bird cast migration forecast is looking good for the next few nights, so
I'll probably be out again tonight.
