[TN-Bird] Bird Banding results at Seven Islands

  Today a small group of bird banders set up six nets to contiue the bird 
monitoring at Seven Islands Wildlife Refuge in SE Knox County, TN. 
 
 Today we caught 45 birds including 7 recaptures.
 Species included
 Willow Flycatchers 3
 Field Sparrows 5 (2 Recaptures)
 Common Yellowthroat 4 (1R)
 Carolina Chickadee 1
 American Goldfinch 1 (1R)
 Indigo Bunting 12 (1R)
 Northern Cardinal 1
 Song Sparrow 2
 Carolina Wren 1 (1R)
 Northern Mockingbird 3
 Eastern Towhee 1 (1R)
 Ruby-throated Hummingbird 3
 
 This is a continuation of the bird monitoring efforts conducted in cooperation 
with the Seven Islands Foundation, The Knoxville Chapter of TOS, The Knoxville 
Zoological Gardens, and the Department of Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries at 
UT, Knoxville.
 
 Our next bird banding session will be on Sunday, August 27. We will meet at 
Seven Islands at 6am to set up nets and run the nets until lunch time. All are 
welcome. If you are interested in learning about bird banding, or you are 
willing to become a regular volunteer, let me know and I will give you more 
details.
