Twenty-one species were noted on my property in Birchwood (Hamilton County)
this morning. Among those species were two first-of-season birds. They were a
Rose-breasted Grosbeak (a female) and a Yellow-rumped Warbler (an immature
female). I also saw the first adult male Ruby-throated Hummingbird that I’d
seen in several days. It was nowhere near my feeders. At least two hummingbirds
still remain around my feeders. Three Tennessee Warblers and one Magnolia
Warbler were observed. I also briefly saw another warbler species that I
couldn’t identify. A migratory Swainson’s Thrush was seen, but I was unable to
get a good enough look to identify another thrush.
