19 MAR 2006
NOrtheast TEnnessee (NOTE)
Rack Cross
.
Yesterday (18 MAR 2006) was a full field day with 9.5 hours logged. Many of
the great birding spots in Sullivan and Johnson Counties of the NOrtheast
TEnnessee (NOTE) area were visited. Some of these were Middlebrook Lake, S.
Holston
Wier Dam, Musick's Lakeside Campground, Quarry Bog, and Orchard Bog.
.
The total species count was 60. Migratory movement and breeding behavior
were evident.
.
My year list grew by four species, listed below in order of appearance:
.
Northern Rough-winged Swallow - 2 (Middlebrook Lake)
Hairy Woodpecker -2 (Wier Dam)
Common Loon - 1 (Musick's Lakeside Campground)
Canvasback - 1 (Musick's Lakeside Campground)
.
'Til we bird again
