Nancy, Very nice, take em however you can get em! That is a great find, I may be wrong but I know of no recent nesting records for Bewick's in west TN. I don't have the exact date now, but back in the late 80's a pair nested in my parents backyard here in McKenzie. The next year House Wrens took the location over and they didn't have the Bewick's again to my knowledge. Not sure if it was a successful nesting or not. I don't remember hearing of any nesting since then. That was the first time I was proven wrong when I doubted a bird my parents said they had in the yard, the 2nd time was the one day White-winged Dove a few years ago they had for my TN bird. I imagine I will make a trip up your way if it does hang around, need to get up there anyway! Tiptonville, Tn. I received a phone call from Glenn Criswell while I was at Church this evening and he sounded excited, so I called him back immediately. You know, it’s some what embarrassing when someone else comes to your yard and finds a rare bird that is probably nesting in your yard. I will say I did look at a “Carolina Wren” on day on the deck rail just singing and sounding different. I know I am not the worlds sharpest birder, and Glenn also did not realize it until he got home and took a good look at the photo he took. Glad he took a picture. So folks, I have a Bewick’s Wren in my yard if anyone is interested in helping me find it. ;o) . Hopefully I have it located early in the morning. It may be nesting on my screen porch. I flushed a wren out yesterday. It has found a handy way in and out. Maybe that’s the Bewicks. Everyone can stop laughing now. Though I am still laughing. Nancy 100 Blue Basin Rd.
