I took a drive down Old Hickory Blvd in the Bell's Bend area to check the sod
farm fields and other spots. The fields have a fair bit of water in them but
the only shorebirds were 6 Least Sandpipers and a couple of Killdeer. Across
the road, 2 Sora responded to playback and called repeatedly. I made a quick
stop at the old house owned by the park and was surprised to see a Red-headed
Woodpecker flying between trees in the front yard. Never saw or heard any
Bobolinks but lots of other activity along the road made we wish for more time
to bird!
