Returning home to Rock Island after a trip to Memphis, I made a quick side trip to the sod farm adjacent to Bark Camp Barrens WMA in Coffee Co. In addition to the usual Killdeer and Horned Larks were two Am. Golden Plovers and a large loose group of Common Nighthawks. Trying to count the Nighthawks was very difficult as they wheeled about and flew in and out of range over the trees; the greatest number I counted was 52, though there probably were many more.
