The Hawk Watch today during the BBC Field Trip was a huge success. Three BBC
members, seven longtime Mendota hawwatchers, and a few visitors (+1 Father)
identified 5 species of hawk, 2 species of Eagle, 1 Falcon, and one
persistently calling Barred Owl. The numbers and species are below from the
EBird report. Highlights we’re the Northern Goshawk, Golden Eagle, 5 Bald
Eagles, and, of course, the 1416 Broad-winged Hawks.
