Old K-25 Site, Heritage Center Greenway
Roane County, Tn
At 11:55am this morning, I found an American Tree Sparrow on the Heritage
Center Greenway. The greenway is on the southwest side of the old K-25 Site or
East Tennessee Technology Park. The bird was near the northeast corner of the
P-1 Pond along the old roadway that has been closed off for a walking path.
Bird had reddish cap, reddish eye strip, bicolor bill, and dark smudge spot on
clear breast. Left to get my camera and have not refound bird on return. This
location has had an American Tree Sparrow reported about 3-4 years ago.
