Sunday was a very pleasant birding day, both at home and hiking with
family down to Jack's Rock, below Lilly Bridge. At my Southa-River
(south-of-the-river) home, I had a Swainson's thrush along with a Wood
thrush up in my woods!! Also 2-3 Common yellowthroats, Indigo bunting,
and Red-eyed Vireo. At the Obed (river, rimrock, and an adjoining
property):

Turkey vulture
Am. crow
Mourning dove
Ruffed grouse on nest w/ 10 eggs
Indigo bunting
An excellent, almost side-by-side comparison of RE vireo, Philly vireo,
and YT vireo songs!
Hooded warbler
Black-throated green w
Prairie w
Chestnut-sided w
Northern parula (several)
YB chat

(Other yard birds earlier this month: fm 4/29 to 5/2, I had
Yellow-throated vireo, Philly vireo, BH cowbird, a pair of Barred owls,
night-calling YB Cuckoos, and Chuck-will's-widows.)

Happy spring birds to you,

Liz Singley
Kingston TN
