You did that part correct, now you need to reply to the confermation message to finish subscribing. You don't need to say anything, just reply.

i had problems subscribing to the new list, but i think i finally did it! at least i think i did because i got a confirmation from the new 
list! this is what i did to make it work for me,
i pasted, TalkingMP3Playerssubscribe@xxxxxxxxx, into the to field, but this in itself did not work, so i tried again, using the same address as above, but this time i put, SUBSCRIBE, in the subject line, and if i 
am correct, i am now subscribed to the new list
