There is an interesting list of other funders of climate change projects on
their Climate Hub link which could be useful for us

small grants programme
Good afternoon,
Following the details we shared at our recent cohort event, we’re very pleased
to tell you that as of today we have now opened to applications for our new
small grants programme Together for Our Planet.
This new £2.5million National Lottery-funded programme will support communities
across the UK take action on climate change, ahead of the 26th UN Climate
Change Conference (COP26), in Glasgow this November.
As a reminder this programme is offering grants of between £1,000 and £10,000
to support local community projects. It aims to create a legacy of ongoing
climate action in hundreds of communities, beyond COP26, supporting the UK to
reduce its emissions on its part to Net Zero by 2050.
Although the fund will be open for all, groups that haven’t received our
funding previously will be a priority and we’re also focusing on groups and
communities who are starting to take climate action and/or those more likely to
be directly impacted by climate change.
The programme is open for applications from today, 1 September, until 5pm on
Thursday 18 November.
We’ve announced this new round on our digital channels, as well as issuing a
press release and sharing with other stakeholders. It would be fantastic if you
would please join in sharing this opportunity across your networks and on
social media using @TNLComFund.
This example post can be used for social media:
Ahead of #COP26 @TNLComFund have launched a new funding programme,
#TogetherforOurPlanet, to support communities across the UK taking action on
#ClimateChange. Find out more about who can apply and the projects they will
fund:
https://www.tnlcommunityfund.org.uk/funding/programmes/together-for-our-planet
As part of our pre-launch activity we offered a webinar to explain more about
the programme and talk through eligibility. We’re offering a further two
webinars in September and anyone interested in attending can sign up here: 7
September and 21 September.
The new programme opens as we also launch a new online ‘Climate Hub’ – a
dedicated space to find latest funding news, insights, learnings and stories on
climate change and the environment. We will be adding to the Hub regularly, and
please do share anything that might be of interest to your networks and
audiences.
If you haven’t already, please do make sure to fill out the forms we shared
regarding lead contacts for our partners and activity around COP26. And thanks
to those that have done so already!
As always, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Best wishes,
Liz

Subject: Climate Action Fund - August 21 cohort event follow up
Importance: High
Hi everyone,
Thank you again for such a wonderful session with so many of you last week. It
was such an energising day and I know that’s a sentiment shared by many!
As promised, we said we’d follow up on a number of things and in particular in
relation to next steps regarding working with our support partners. For anyone
who wasn’t able to make the day or missed certain sections, please don’t
hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
Cohort event
Please find attached the slides from the event which include the full slide
deck from our support partners and the Fund updates we also discussed.
There is also a recording from the morning sessions for each of the partner
introductions. If you would like to watch this please let us know and we’ll
forward. Just didn’t want to clog up anyone’s inbox!
Next steps with partners
One of the key areas we discussed was how you would practically and
logistically work with each partner. To make that easier for all we’d like to
identify who would be your lead contacts for the three strands so we know who
is best to speak with directly for the different areas. We’re looking for one
set of contacts per project and recognise you might have just one person across
all three strands or multiple people. Whatever works best for you and your
projects! There is an overview document attached ‘TNLCF CAF Delivery Partners –
summary for cohort Aug21’, to help you decide who would be the most appropriate
contacts.
Please submit your responses through this form and we’d be very grateful if
you’d complete this by next Friday 27 August.
We will also shortly be following this with a wider survey to understand and
identify what you would want and need from each partner and strand of work.
This will be one survey that will consider each strand and from there that will
allow each partner to ascertain priorities and next steps. We hope to issue
this towards the end of next week but if there are any immediate questions you
have please don’t hesitate to get in contact – either with your Fund officer or
myself.
COP26
Our upcoming funding programme Together for Our Planet – as discussed we’re
carrying out some pre-launch work at the minute before the programme opens to
applications on Wednesday 1 September. More information is in the attached
slides. If you would like to forward on the information to any of the priority
groups we’re hoping to encourage more applications from then please do get in
contact with me and I can share the relevant information. We just ask that at
this stage nothing is posted on any public platforms until 1 September. We’ll
also share more information on launch day as well.
We also discussed what different activities and events you are all currently
planning and what we would be looking to do. In particular, we noted the points
raised about doing something as a collective. Following the cohort event we’ve
been discussing options with Glimpse and hope to have more details very soon.
In the meantime though it will help in the planning to better understand what
you’ve already got underway and where, or what, support would be most
appropriate. We’ve another short form that we’d be grateful if each project
would complete and submit by Friday 3 September at the latest.
As always, please do also forward this across your partners.
Hope you’re all well and wishing you a relaxing weekend!
Best wishes,
Liz
