About GNPy GUI and SW app vs webb based approach: We have come to following
conclusion:
Depending on the development cost we prefer SW-app. We see some weak points of
the web-based approach in our experience:
• Dependencies/problems with new
releases of web browsers. Web browser release can change often.
• Many web browser are around. The
regular user picks the one he likes the most – and they do not work exactly the
same way
• Web browsers are popular for many
different other applications and may need different settings to work the best.
A regular user often get lost in doing all the changes back and forth leading
to increased admin work for system administrators
• Human computer Interaction, scaling of
windows, font size, etc.
• Lag.
Sw-app vs. web-browser is not a make or break requirement for us. If developing
a SW-app will be substantial costlier compared to developing a web-browser we
will accept a web-browser solution.
