Technologies
Built for Microsoft ?Longhorn? Server
10/10/2005 » Today at its 8th annual business and technology conference,
Citrix iForum? Global 2005, Citrix President and CEO Mark Templeton announced a
major technology development initiative, codenamed Project ?Constellation,? to
deliver the next generation of application virtualization technologies built
for the next major release of Microsoft® Windows Server? - codenamed Longhorn.
These technologies will lead to a broader set of Citrix products that will
enable our customers to deliver, manage and support on-demand access to IT
services.
?Constellation represents our vision of the future of application
virtualization,? said Templeton. ?Constellation comprises new innovative
technologies that have been under development for the past two years and will
result in many new application virtualization products, features and options.?
Constellation technologies include:

System health monitoring for resilience, problem isolation and fault
tolerance
Guaranteed best end-user experience through autonomic load management
Graphics acceleration for improved application performance for all
application types including graphics intensive applications
Effective monitoring and management of service level agreements through
end-to-end visibility and reporting, including user experience monitoring
On-demand system configuration for continuous operations and effective
system state management
Much improved access compliance for tighter security, from preventive to
forensic auditing, using system lockdown and session recording technologies
