[THIN] Re: Word Slow Printing/Previewing

I've had problems (not with terminal services) where DNS was the
culprit. If the DNS server address configured on the client (terminal
server, in your case) is configured wrong or in the wrong order,
printing was either very slow or nonexistent. Check that out. =20

Do any other applications have the problem, like write or notepad? If
you right click on the printer and select Properties, does it take a
long time to fire up? (do this before you open Word or any other
application)

Hope this helps...

Gabe

Subject: [THIN] Word Slow Printing/Previewing

Citrix XP
Office 2000
Lexmark T620 PS3 drivers (amoungst other Lexmark drivers/printers) v7.4
Latest ones.

For some reason word is very slow printing the first time you open word
if
these drivers are access via a direct connect from in the TS session to
the
Print Queue (\\server\queue_name <\\server\queue_name> ). If you leave
word
open then it does not happen on subsiquent documents.

If we map via the client it is all fine.
(\\client\workstation_name\printer_name
<\\client\workstation_name\printer_name> )

Any one have some suggestions as to what could be going on or if they
are
having the same problem?

Thanks
