Yeah Citrix has added an option to their 2003 install that basically odes this and dummy proofs it. I am getting away from that and starting to create groups that can then be added to that local group on the servers.=20 Ron Oglesby Senior Technical Architect Microsoft MVP, Windows Server=20 =20 RapidApp, Chicago Office 312.372.7188 Mobile 815.325.7618 email roglesby@xxxxxxxxxxxx =20 -----Original Message----- From: Leone, Michael [mailto:MLeone@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]=20 Sent: Wednesday, March 10, 2004 3:06 PM To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] Re: Win2003 TS - unable to log on interactively? AH. I did not know that. No, I haven't added any domain users to that local group. Basically I want ANY domain user to be able to use TS, if they want (and there's a license :-).=20 Yes, all domain users have passwords. Thanks; it seems to be working now, that I added "Domain Users" to that local group. -- ------------------------------------------------------------ Michael Leone, Systems Administrator Philadelphia Contributionship 210 S. 4th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106 <mailto:mleone@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> V: 215-627-1752 x1282 F: 215-627-5354 -----Original Message----- From: Ron Oglesby [mailto:roglesby@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, March 10, 2004 3:38 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Win2003 TS - unable to log on interactively? There is now a local desktop users group. Did you add the user accounts you are trying to use to that group. Also do they have passwords. No password no access by default. NEXT I wrote a script a while back (actually I did the rough and Bruce Heavner finished it) to query MF servers from MFCOM then add selected groups to the Desktop users Groups (it was local users but is a simple change in the script) Is this something that people would want. I might include it on Jim's next CD. I'm testing my new Win2003 TS, and all my user accounts are unable to connect via RDC- I get a message about "The loca policy of this system does not permit you to log on interactively" - which is kinda odd, considering that it's a TS server. :-) I know I didn't set any such option, and I did choose "Terminal Server" as the machine's role. Shouldn't choosing that role have set the local policy to allow logins? I'm confused - never had this happen on my Win2K TS. What do I need to do to allow regular AD domain users to login to the TS? -- ------------------------------------------------------------ Michael Leone, Systems Administrator Philadelphia Contributionship 210 S. 4th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106 <mailto:mleone@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> V: 215-627-1752 x1282 F: 215-627-5354 ******************************************************** This weeks sponsor Emergent Online.
