John, I was planning on leaving the TS licensing server the same server that it is on now (a DC). I was hoping to just upgrade the Windows 2000 server DC to Windows 2003 server with the TS licensing server. Do you think this will work? I guess what I am asking is how have others upgraded from Windows 2000 TS licensing to Windows 2003 TS licensing and what issues did they have to deal with? Thanks, Ken ... -----Original Message----- From: Rowlandson, John [mailto:John.Rowlandson@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, October 30, 2003 3:14 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Win 2003 License server questions Mallesons Stephen Jaques www.mallesons.com Confidential communication you need a 2003 server acting as a 2003 licencing server that contacts MS to verify your licencing model. it doesnt have to be on a DC , ms have a vbs file that hardcodes the tsLicencing server where you want it John Rowlandson Technical Support Specialist Mallesons Stephen Jaques Sydney T +61 2 9296 3653 F +61 2 9296 3999 john.rowlandson@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:john.rowlandson@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Lutz, Ken Sent: Friday, 31 October 2003 10:06 AM To: Thin - List (thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx) Subject: [THIN] Win 2003 License server questions If this question has been addressed in the past I apologize for asking it again. Having said that, I have a Windows 2000 AD network (mixed mode right now) with my TS license server running on a Windows 2000 DC. I have 6 Citrix MetaFrame XPe servers FR2/SP2 running Windows 2000 server SP3. We are planning on upgrading our AD to native mode followed by upgrading the DCs to Windows 2003. when this happens what steps do I need to do to maintain my TS license server and licenses? Will I have any issues that I will need to address prior to these changes?
