answer (more or less)
asp.net web pages are obviously based on the .net framework, that is an ASP.NET
web page is 'just in time compiled' at run-time (unless its cached) and runs
atop the .net framework. some bits you would like to hear
1. asp.net pages are better because they are executed in safe 'app domains' and
so cannot crash each other
2. asp.net (not sure about this but pretty sure), needs iis 6.x upwards to run
3. asp removes the presentation layer and the logic layer into separate areas
also, I would expect a decent IIS spod to understand web services, SOAP,
impersonation...
these aren't tough questions for an IIS specialist, but if you wanted a good IT
engineer with some web server skills, he should still be able to answer the
.NET questions...

I will shortly be interviewing candidates for a technical webmaster role,
but am not even remotely webby enough to do so competently ;-) Can anyone
suggest good topics for me to bone up on in order to ask reasonably coherent
questions? The post holder will be responsible for administering our IIS2,
ISA server intranet and internet connection and WebMarshall content
filtering. The nuts and bolts of site design will be included but we're
trying to dissuade graphic designers. The main part of the postholders role
is IT engineering with Webmastering as a speciality.
So, what should I know about and ask? Buzzwords! I need buzzwords!
