Not being an IIS or WI guru I don't know what side effects it may have but I would dearly love to get rid of it or use some other form of redirection. I notice that when I do delete it (step 2 in the create site process) the 'Apply Changes URL' also gets changed appropriately - as I said I'm no WI or IIS wizard. Best Wishes for the New Year.
