Hi Rick,

I'm really glad you responded. Thanks for this info. Uphclean is running,
but not giving me much (or anything) to play with. I may try turning off
(disabling) client autocreated printers. This client has a lot of HP
Deskjets, so something may be a bit sus here.

They are also only running a clean install of FR3, with two Citrix
hotfixes. I'm trying to convince them to deploy SP4 because it addresses so
many things, and I'm hoping it with also clear up the wfshell errors.

Also thanks for the process explorer tip. I guess that's a good way to
track down a problematic app.

Cheers,
Jeremy.

Hi Jeremy,

The most common reason for wfshell.exe hanging is client autocreated
printers.

However the way I'd handle this, provided you can reproduce the
wfshell hang, is run up process explorer (www.sysinternals.com) to see
what handles wfshell has open on logoff or seamless application
closure.

Provided you're running uphclean (mandatory on 2003 in my opinion) you
may also be getting some useful information from profile unload
errors.

Unfortunately a CCIA leans more towards a design/enterise view of the
world which really doesn't help beans with application or O.S. issues.

regards,

Rick
