You'd think so, wouldn't you - in fact I used to do that in the past.

But recently I've found that I couldn't unload locked profiles in this
way. The only way I found, on some machines were I saw the problem, was
to use uphclean.

In the case of a profile that's locked open, you can gracefully unload
the profile yourself. Find out the user's SID using USER2SID.EXE. Then
run regedit, find that hive under HKEY_USERS, and go to File, Unload
Hive.

Subject: [THIN] Unlock File in use

I know I have used it, but now I am at a new company..my mind is
starting to turn into jello. Can someone point me in the direction for
the tool to be able to unlock in file in use "that does not show up as
being open from SRVMGR or other methods". I need to delete a profile
that states it is in use but the user processes are terminated
"ntuser.dat".

I used a utility in the past that gave me the ability to delete any file
that was in use but I just can't find it.
