The other thing I will toss out there is if you login and logoff almost immediately after the app appears the process userinit.exe will hold up the login process until it completes and then closes which in our environment takes about a minute to complete.....While the session is logging off check the processes still running to check this... Try disabling the Citrix Print Manager Service. I know that isn't optimal. The slowness came back so I disabled that and the log offs were faster. _____ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Schneider, Chad M Sent: Thursday, July 12, 2007 3:56 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Symantec Re: Logoff's taking too long to process... You need the latest release of Symantec 10 - Maintenance Patch 1 for Maintenance Release 6 (MR 6 MP 1) RTVScan holds open user profiles after a user logs off of a session using Citrix Metaframe or Web Presentation server Fix ID: 860803, 983890, 983899, 983935 Symptom: When a client logs off or disconnects a session connected to a Citrix server, the profile is not completely closed, causing possible profile locks or corruption. Solution: Changed how RTVScan handles session disconnects and logoffs to release NTUser.dat file in a more timely fashion. Also made changes to add better support for Seamless Windows within Citrix. There are problems with certain versions earlier than this. http://entkb.symantec.com/security/output/n2006050314483048.html ----- Original Message ----- From: Brian Gavin <mailto:BGavin@xxxxxxxxx> To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, July 12, 2007 5:06 PM Subject: [THIN] Logoff's taking too long to process... I have a Windows 2003 R2 SP2 server with Presentation Server 4.5 installed on it. I have roaming profiles and the latest UPHclean installed on the server. Logins are fine. They take about 10 seconds to login with a normal profile. When I log off, it takes over a minute for the logoff to complete. I read to uninstall the UPHClean program and logoffs should run faster. I really don't want to do this because it helps out so much with not getting corrupted profiles. I have also looked at some private MS hotfixes but because it is R2 with SP2, none of them apply. Any suggestions would be great.
