Use tsprofiles and redirect mydocs to their home folders on the server? Good luck! R -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of kenw@xxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, March 21, 2005 8:16 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Shared My Documents, separate profiles I have a site where it makes sense for users to have the same My Documents folder regardles of whether they are working on the desktop or the Citrix server. However, I've had a number of issues with using the same user profile in both environments, so I want to keep those separate. I'd use folder redirection via Group Policies, but that defaults to using offline file caching, which gets rather messy -- when is Microsoft going to fix Offline Files so it doesn't cache files it isn't told to, doesn't try to synchronize files the user has no access to, etc? So I'm sorta debating using folder redirection with offline files turned off. Does that even work? Complicating matters is that I do need offline files enabled for certain folders for mobile users. Has anyone figured out what works well for this scenario? /kenw Ken Wallewein K&M Systems Integration Phone (403)274-7848 Fax (403)275-4535 kenw@xxxxxxxx www.kmsi.net ******************************************************** This Weeks Sponsor: RTO Software TScale TScale provides a cost-effective way to improve performance, capacity and stability for thin-client servers like Citrix MetaFrame or Microsoft Terminal Services running Windows NT, 2000 or 2003. http://www.rtosoft.com/enter.asp?id)6 ********************************************************** Useful Thin Client Computing Links are available at: http://thin.net/links.cfm ThinWiki community - Excellent SBC Search Capabilities! http://www.thinwiki.com *********************************************************** For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link: http://thin.net/citrixlist.cfm ******************************************************** This Weeks Sponsor: RTO Software TScale TScale provides a cost-effective way to improve performance, capacity and stability for thin-client servers like Citrix MetaFrame or Microsoft Terminal Services running Windows NT, 2000 or 2003. http://www.rtosoft.com/enter.asp?id)6 ********************************************************** Useful Thin Client Computing Links are available at: http://thin.net/links.cfm ThinWiki community - Excellent SBC Search Capabilities! http://www.thinwiki.com *********************************************************** For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link: http://thin.net/citrixlist.cfm
