You can schedule re-boots within CMC[1] Within this function there is the
ability to sent the users on the server messages warning them of the
shutdown - or you can use the built in Windows scheduler to run a script to
do the shutdown.

Personally I have used the scripted shutdown via the windows scheduler as
long as I have been working with Metaframe[2].

My current re-boot script does quite a bit of housekeeping on the servers as
well as the actual re-boot - and I do send the users several messages
warning them of the impending shutdown.

Just saw your follow-up message - you need to change the first one as
qserver no longer works with XP - the 2nd one is OK - you may want to run
this a few times before the shutdown - or alter it to send more than one
message. The last one will need changing as you need to use TSSHUTDN to
shutdown a w2k/xp server.

1 Right click on the server - select properties and then the reboot tab
2 Never bothered with re-boots on Winview[3]\
3 Showing my age there ....

Subject: [THIN] Scheduling CitrixXP reboots

I'm running CitrixXPa.

Is there a utility to schedule reboots of the citrix servers? I would like
to send a message to the users on the server that will be rebooted, letting
them know about the reboot 1 hour prior. Then logon any users before the
server reboots.

Thanks,jb
