It looks like can change it to db_read and db_write, however it looks like
you have to change it back to db_owner to install future service packs and
feature releases.

I just wanted to add, the MetaFrame Advanced Concepts Guide for FR3 (page
172) outline this and the db_read and db_write permissions as well. Plus a
few recommendations.

The SQL account should be Dbo owner for the Datastore. There was an issue
discussed
earlier setting up this account with Read and write access which didn't
work.

Can anyone tell me what the minimum permissions that are needed on an SQL
database hosting the XPDataStore?
Does this requirement change for Feature Release upgrades etc?
Also if anyone knows the same for Altiris Deployment manager this would be
handy too.
Locking down our SQL boxes at the moment.
