Try using SysInternal's PSEXEC, it's free and really usefull.
<http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/psexec.shtml> )

It executes command on a remote system.

For exemple:

psexec \\servername <file://\\servername> net stop service

or simply:

psexec \\servername <file://\\servername> cmd.exe

and you have a command prompt open on the server.

c:\> net stop SERVICENAME

and then do a

c:\>net start SERVICENAME

from the command prompt....

What about sc.exe? I believe it comes with Windows XP/2003 but should also
be included in the Windows Resource Kits.

A while back someone told me about a free util that you can run from a
command line that will restart a service on another machine. can anyone
remember what that might be?
