So are the users printing directly from Citrix to the network printer . ie have setup a printer pointing to the printer directly from Citrix or is the networked printer from the MAC workstation actually getting mapped for their session as the user logs onto Citrix or are you using the Citrix network printer setup function where you can import the network printer and specify which user will print to it? -----Original Message----- From: Bray, Donovan (ESC) [mailto:BrayD@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, June 30, 2005 11:11 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: [QUAR]Re: MAC printing and Citrix seems to suck the bi g one Well what I posted was somewhat misleading, in our environment we ONLY have networked lasers, so I know they should be generic postscripts. If your environment includes things like locally attached deskwriters, then you actually have to make the appropriate choices in the default settings in the Client Config. Mac OS9 printing is limited to whatever the default printer is, because you can only make one choice in the default settings. If know you are printing to a specific type of printer, you can select that printers PPD. But I've never had a reason to go back and change from default postscript when dealing with network lasers. _____ From: Steve Parr [mailto:sparr@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, June 29, 2005 11:29 AM To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [QUAR][THIN] Re: MAC printing and Citrix seems to suck the big one Thanks Bray Following your instructions has done the trick for MAC OS 9 printing. Have you been successful using anything other than the "generic postscript printer"? Are there any limitations or issues printing with the "generic postscript printer". -----Original Message----- From: Bray, Donovan (ESC) [mailto:BrayD@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, June 28, 2005 8:14 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: MAC printing and Citrix seems to suck the big one Make sure you are on the latest 6.20 ica client thats available. Are you launching via the Web Interface or ICA file? I've had problems with settings inside the ICA files interfering with printer autocreation for OS9 macs. Also make sure the user you are testing with is allowed to autocreate printers. (The OS9 Autocreated Printers have nothing to do with the UPD, its mechanism is entirely separate.) There are a ton of places that can prevent printer autocreation. TS tab in ADUC, Listener Config on each TS, Citrix Policies, and can be overriden in ICA files. Here is my setup document that I give to the other techs. http://technology.edmonds.wednet.edu/gallery/albums/Tech%20Support/Terminal% 20Services/Setup%20Desktop%20V2%20on%20OS8-9.pdf <http://technology.edmonds.wednet.edu/gallery/albums/Tech%20Support/Terminal %20Services/Setup%20Desktop%20V2%20on%20OS8-9.pdf> Let me know where your screens start to differ.
