That solution still only loads the full shell. 
        Additional steps taken.
        
        Set custom shell option to a private copy of explorer.exe renamed as
explorer1.exe

        copied explorer.exe to explorer1.exe & explorer2.exe

        attempted to publish explorer2.exe

        Standard shell loads when explorer*.exe is called as a published
app.  I agree it should work that way but apparently something is being
overlooked.

make a copy of it and give it different name and then publish the =
renamed one.

Does anyone know how to manipulate the explorer shell as a published
application to include (I assume) the classID for file browsing instead =
of
loading the full shell?

Example:
in a shell session (desktop) run explorer.exe . the result is a =
directory
browsing window. does anyone know how to publish this outside of using =
AAAAG
win filemgr?
