Jeff,

the windows installer error comes up for me if we RDP to the profiling box.

If we connect to the console of the same machine the "windows installer"
message goes away.

cant help much with the Install Shield errors though sorry..

Hope this helps. :)

James

Subject: [THIN] Profiling apps question

Ok I'm trying to profile some crappy applications and they use Installshield.
Installshield is trying to install ISSCRIPT but the profiler doesn't like it.
I get "1607: Unable to install Installshield scripting runtime" error. I've
tried installing it manually into the profile and that works but I still get
the above error. So I try just launching the MSI directly and I get "Error
1719. The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. this can occur if
you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not
correctly installed. contact your support personnel for assistance".

Anyone else seen this problem and know of a workaround? I've also tried
installing in relaxed mode and no luck.
