It looks like the folder it wants it missing. Can you verify that XLStart
exists and if not create an empty folder? I
find that these errors tell you exactly what is missing.

Hello all,
On some of our MF XP FR3 (win2k sp4) boxes, after deploying MS patches (this
time: MS05-050,051,and 052)
Users are prompted with the Office Installation dialogs when launching Excel,
and the following two errors are written
to the Application log:
Detection of product '{00020409-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7}', feature
'EXCELFiles', component
'{EBB69321-AA40-11D1-955F-00A0C9082635}' failed.
Detection of product '{00020409-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7}', feature
'EXCELFiles', component
'{EBB69321-AA40-11D1-955F-00A0C9082635}' failed. The resource 'E:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Office\XLStart\' does
not exist.
Seems like a profile issue? We don't use mandatory or roaming profiles.
Any ideas or insights would be greatly appreciated.
