JK, thought this app might be 16 bit....Nope, not 16 bit, it's version 4 the Oracle 8 version. It's still based on Access (geck) 97 though. ADP still gives lip service to support when I have Citrix problems. (believe me at times I wish I could see wowexec, or NTVDM...those problems I at least know what to do with.} I find this HR Perspective, Payroll and Etime to be terribly frustrating applications so continually posting on what I consider to be mediocre to rotten product just drives me NUTS. Having to at least 2-5 times per week manually log off a user via CMC that has had their HR Perspective session poof and disappear from their desktop just burns my time like crazy. -----------------got any cheese for my whine----------------<g>----- From: "Jim Strowe" <jstrowe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [THIN] Re: Date: Mon, 19 May 2003 22:18:56 -0400 I really have to stop posting near weekends...i.e. I never got a response to this(and if I did I couldn't find it in the other 500 messages I get) ============ MF XP, upgraded farm build from 1.8. HR Perspective (my least favorite program on earth) is being run as a published app on our citrix 5 server. Users run the other apps (also published) on citrix 1,2,3. In general HR Perspective (version 4 btw) will minimize to task bar. Every once in a while the app will disappear. It's still running when I look on the management console. Sometimes I can even shadow the app and log them off. Generally I have to log off without shadowing and then clean up the mess. Citrix web site does mention this with the 6.3.1050 client for some apps. Anybody have any ideas. I'm trying to see if I have the older version of the client around to back rev these users, but otherwise I'm rather stuck. Also remember the app is GONE from the clients PC, no ica processes running, no task list, poof gone. If this isn't a bug I'll be quite surprised. I even wasted an email asking ADP if they had any ideas. (roflol) I havent had the problem with the Microsoft Suite (excel, word, et al) exhibiting this behavior, but they are on different servers. One response from ADP, they suggested I look at ODBC timeouts for HR perspective. i.e. that the timeout might be causing the disconnect. It's a good point that I'll look at. ******************************************************** This Week's Sponsor - NetX Inc Thin Clients NetX develops embedded flexible client solutions, customized to your specifications.
