All selectable items within the office menus can be disabled. You just
need to do know the command bar ID's you can find these by doing the
following steps. (I have yet to see a publicized list of these yet, so
you're going to have to dig to find the ones you want)

You'll need the command bars browser tool to determine what what ID is
associated with that particular option and disable it. Get this free
util
from:=20

http://www.siam-consulting.com/Downloads.htm

Here's what you'd need to do. Install the tool to a machine that has
Office 2000 on it, after installation open up the application you wish
to restrict access to, then hit ALT + F11. This will open up visual
basic editor, from there, select 'add-ins' and 'commandbar controls
browser'.

At the top of the window that pops up, select the application you wish
to view the settings for. Then scroll through the available menu items
till you find the one you want. The numbers associated with the item you
want to disable will be listed with this app.=20

After that, you can go into your system policies, go to the 'disabled
items in the user interface' folder, choose 'custom', then choose
'disable command bar buttons and menu items'. Enter your new found
number . . and your setting should be disabled.=20

It takes a bit of work, to do this, but you can effectively disable any
and all office options through this process if needed.=20

Subject: [THIN] Office 2000adm files

I just installed the Office 2000 ADM files and would like to know if=20
there is a way to REMOVE the Options button when the user checks the=20
spelling. I have the GPO set to NOT check spelling and grammar as they=20
type, but I found that all I have to do is press that Options button=20
that is located on the Spell/Grammar GUI, to enable the auto=20
spell/grammar checking.

Is this possible in the 2000ADM files?
