It depends on who hosts your DNS, you or an ISP, but whoever it is needs
to enter a PTR (pointer) record in the DNS. It is a reverse DNS lookup
by the recipient server to make sure that the email originate from you.=20

Subject: [THIN] OT: DNS issue

I am not a DNS guru by any means and we are having some DNS issues with
our email. Some users send emails to other companies and some of them
are getting returned with the following message.

You do not have permission to send to this recipient. For assistance,
contact your system administrator. <net1ex1.VDINET1 #5.7.1 smtp;554
5.7.1 The server sending your mail [216.173.234.20] does not have a
reverse DNS entry. Connection Rejected. Please contact your
Dial-Up/DSL/Network ISP Provider. Default Reject!>

The ip address given is our firewall. I am not sure what i am needing
to setup here. any help from you pros out there would be most
appreciated.

Thanks,
