Hi,

Update the MF20.DNS with the new Datastore server name and reboot the server,

Server should connect to new Datastore.

Hello Folks:

 1. Moving DataStore SQL 2000 Datastore that resides in Location A to Location
B..
    * Mf20.dsn Server entry uses a DNS name instead of the SQL Server Name.
    * mf20.dns Server Name entry is ctxdatastore
    * IP Address for DNS Name is configured for this location.
    *   IP addr:  202.11.3.230
    *   Server Name: Srvloca
    *   SQL 2000 Database
    * This is a default instance.

 1.  Location B: has a SQL 2000 Database Server.
    * Copy a back-up copy of the Citrix DataStore to server in Location B
    * Stop SQL Server Service in Location A
    * Change DNS name IP Address to new location and keep the same DNS Name
    * Replicate new DNS Name to Domain Controller. .
    * mf20.dsn Server Name is ctxdatastore
    *   IP Addr:  159.102.12.220
    *   Server Name:  SrvLocB
    *   Reboot Zone Data Collector.
    * This is a named instance

 * Will my rebooted Zone Data Collector find the new SQL 2000 Database in
Location B?
 * Since the mf20.dsn does not change, do I need to run dsmaint migrate the
servers?
 * When we reboot all the other servers in this zone, will they connect to
the server in Location B without running the dsmaint command?

It is my contention this will connect to the IP Address of the server that will
contain the new SQL 2000 Datastore referenced in the DNS Name entry! Am I
thinking correctly?

Thank you.

Jay Jensen
