Jim,

Your problems are basically 2 things: taskbar and file transfer. First is
solved by educating users to use Alt+Tab combination and the second by
publishing copy Windows Explorer. Create a renamed copy of
c:\winnt\explorer.exe and publish it to the users in need of file transfer.

Subject: [THIN] Migrating to a full published app environment/bye bye
desktop

MF XP... we're moving from a redirected Citrix desktop to a full NFUSE
(internal) published app environment. So far I've
created all the apps
making groups to assign rights to
checking apps

Any of you gone through a similar transition. This is going to be quite the
culture shock to my users who are used to their own (62 of them) customized
desktop. I'm more concerned about the Thin Clients since they obviously
won't be running explorer.exe anymore just published Apps....i.e. they
don't get a task bar whereas the PC users do. (since they have a local
Explorer.exe running) (and can we all say ALT-F4 to switch windows....sure
we can)

Any advice on ways to cushion the cultural blow. Yes my users are (ahem)
average end users. We all know what that means. The more help I can give
them the less hellish it will be when I finally pull the plug on their
redirected desktops.

(and for those of you watching the topica thread, I turned off return
receipt <g>)
